Emma Cahoon

Director, Actor, Theatremaker

Emma Cahoon (she/her) is a theatre-maker dedicated to the art of asking questions. A graduate of Boston University with a BFA in Theatre Arts and minor in Arts Leadership, she is currently based in New England. Emma has worked with organizations across the country including theatre KAPOW, Central Square Theater, What Would the Neighbors Say?, the Seven Devils New Play Foundry, and more. Emma’s directing practice centers elevating and exploring dramatic texts to their fullest depths, while building collaborative environments built on equal parts creativity, joy, and rigor.

Next up, in March/April 2025, Emma will re-stage A Midsummer Night’s Dream for a brief educational tour at St. Anselm College and The Capitol Center for the Arts.

Emma recently closed theatre KAPOW’s Every Brilliant Thing, which she directed. It ran in February 2025 at BNH Stage and the Winnipesaukee Playhouse.

Emma served as the dramaturg for Claire Soleil Gardner’s new play Out of the Earth, which was workshopped as part of the inaugural New to the Neighborhood residency program in Brooklyn, NY. Read more about the project here.
